How to join the Art Elective Programme (AEP)
To take the AEP, students must pass the AEP selection exercise. Learn more about the selection process and enrolment paths.
Selection exercise
Interested students must pass the selection exercise conducted by AEP schools or MOE. The selection takes students’ current aptitude and potential into consideration.
The AEP selection exercise involves:
- Review of student’s art portfolio.
- An interview and art tasks.
Selection in an AEP school or AEP Centre
Interested P6 students who have not gained admission in AEP or Enhanced Art Programme (EAP) schools can apply to undergo a centralised selection exercise to offer the programme at the AEP Centre, National Junior College.
Note: Enrolment in the AEP Centre is strictly at the beginning of Secondary 1 only.
Application window opens from early to mid-January each year.
Phase 1: Submit online application with art e-portfolio
All complete applications and e-portfolios submitted within this application window will be reviewed and assessed as part of Phase 1.
Receive Phase 1 selection result
The result will be communicated through applicants’ schools in the middle of February. Only shortlisted applicants will advance to Phase 2.
Attend Phase 2 interview for shortlisted applicants only
Receive final selection result
The result will be communicated through applicants’ schools in early March. If selected, the applicant will receive a letter of invitation to enrol.
