Flexi-Adjunct Teaching Scheme

If you are registered as a Flexi-Adjunct Teacher (FAJT) with MOE, you may be engaged by schools for teaching duties or a mix of teaching and non-teaching duties, depending on the school's needs.

Roles and responsibilties

You may be assigned teaching duties only, or a mix of teaching, CCA and other duties. Depending on the school's needs, you may also be required to take on additional duties that permanent Education Officers and Contract Adjunct Teachers are deployed for. All duties are to be mutually agreed upon between you and the school.

Requirements

1. Applicants should:

  • Possess a Postgraduate Diploma in Education or the Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education, Singapore. Those with other professional teaching qualifications may apply for consideration.
  • Have a passion for education, imparting knowledge and nurturing students.
  • Have the fitness and stamina to effectively fulfil both teaching and non-teaching duties, as well as the resilience required to engage students safely and carry out their duties effectively.
  • Be current with the national curriculum, pedagogies and the requirements of MOE schools.

2. Former MOE officers must have a track record of good performance and conduct, particularly in their last 3 years of service. Those who have left the Education Service for some years may apply for consideration.

Contract duration

Varies from 1 day to 10 weeks per appointment, depending on the requirements of the school.

Leave benefits

You will be eligible for pro-rated leave benefits after 90 days or more of cumulative service. Cumulative service refers to contracts that:

  • Last 14 days or more
  • Are renewed within 30 calendar days of the last contract
  • Are at the same school

Note: If your spouse is eligible for maternity or adoption leave, you will still be eligible for Shared Parental Leave even if you have served less than 3 months.

How to register

  1. Submit your application through the .
  2. Ensure your application is complete before submitting. All applications will be assessed based on the Ministry’s prevailing requirements and guidelines.
  3. You will receive an email on the outcome of your application. Processing time may vary, but it generally takes 4 to 6 weeks. In the meantime, you may check your application status through REMS 2.0. 
  4. If your application is successful, you will be listed in our registry. Schools will contact you directly if they need your services. You may also search for school vacancies through job postings on REMS 2.0.

Successful registration in REMS 2.0 is not a guarantee of employment in a school.

How to renew your registration

Registration is valid for 3 years. You may check your registration expiry date in REMS 2.0.

You will receive an email 90 days before your registration expires, after which you may submit your renewal application in REMS 2.0. 

  1. Log in to with your Singpass.
  2. Click on the “Applications” tab.
  3. Select your expiring registration and click on “Re-register”.
  4. Complete all required fields and submit your renewal application.
  5. You will receive an email with the application outcome 4 to 6 weeks after submission. You can also check your application status through REMS 2.0. 

We strongly encourage you to submit your renewal application early, as it must be approved before you can start or continue any school engagement.
